Hello! Last week I mentioned that I’d been trying out soak-off gels for a couple of weeks, so here is the review for you. I was kindly sent the NYK1 Secrets Gel Starter Kit to try out and review. Gel nails are totally new to me, I’ve always been a bit nervous to try them as the process seemed a little tricky, so this has also been a fun learning experience for me! With this in mind, I just want to disclose that I am in no way trained professionally or otherwise in gel nails, so my experience *could* be subject to my own lack of my experience – and I wouldn’t recommend that you take my advice as given, it’s literally just what has worked/hasn’t worked for me 🙂

Hey there! So I promised (stupidly) to get this post up last night, but had an unexpected visit from my mum’s partner – which was lovely! – but I ran out of time to write this review unfortunately. So I hope you will accept my profuse apologies 🙂

Today I have the new Barry M Spring 2015 Gelly Nail Paint collection to show you (thanks to the PR team at Barry M for sending me these to review 🙂 ). I am loving that the Gelly line has taken off, so much so that we are still seeing releases nearly 3 years after the first Gellies came out. Happy happy. I loved them back then, and I am still loving them now! Barry M have brought out some lovely spring shades this time – only three, but all are great staple shades.

As always I have swatched a couple of similar-looking shades to compare with the colours, so that you can be sure you aren’t buying dupes!

As an aside – I muchly apologise for my fingers looking oily, I have been religiously applying cuticle oil the last few days, since I dried my skin out big time using soak-off gels. Sorry!

Hello! I have a treat for you today 🙂 it comes in the form of a new, 9-strong Barry M collection. Yep – nine – so this is going to be a looooong post! Barry M were kind enough to send me the full collection. As always, I’ve included comparisons with other Barry M nail paints, so grab a cuppa and settle in 🙂

The new collection is the “Speedy Nail Paint Collection” for Spring 2015. So-called because the nail polishes are quick-dry colours. Rather aptly for spring, they are all pastel colours (or muted variations of brights!).

I do love themed packaging, and this collection doesn’t disappoint! The caps are Speedway flag-style checkerboard black and white – and incredibly eye-catching.

My Picture Polish love affair continues – I’ve been waiting to show you this nail polish ever since my nails all broke – it’s been my one of my favourites all winter! (I am living in fear of it running out, and I’ve only had it 2 months!) But I felt it needed a nice even set of nails to show it in its full glory.

Picture Polish Escapades is another collaboration shade; this one with Nail Escapades (one of my very favourite blogs!). I am all over it! It came out at the tail end of 2014, along with Picture Polish Lollipop, which I reviewed here.

Hey there! So, I’m still in a ‘sod the winter’ type of mood, and I’ve been wearing nice summery shades in defiance of the cold weather – who’s with me?! One of my top 15 nail polish favourites of 2014 was Picture Polish Fool’s Gold, which I’ve never properly swatched on here, so out that came. Oh, and (at last) my index nail has grown out to a semi-acceptable length… but now I have a split in my ring nail – I blame the cold weather!

Fool’s Gold is another of the Picture Polish collaboration shades (where they work with a blogger to create a colour). This one was done with Sammy of The Nailasaurus, who is a fellow UK nail blogger 🙂
