Picture Polish Fool's Gold - Imagination In Colour

Picture Polish Fool’s Gold

Hey there! So, I’m still in a ‘sod the winter’ type of mood, and I’ve been wearing nice summery shades in defiance of the cold weather – who’s with me?! One of my top 15 nail polish favourites of 2014 was Picture Polish Fool’s Gold, which I’ve never properly swatched on here, so out that came. Oh, and (at last) my index nail has grown out to a semi-acceptable length… but now I have a split in my ring nail – I blame the cold weather!

Fool’s Gold is another of the Picture Polish collaboration shades (where they work with a blogger to create a colour). This one was done with Sammy of The Nailasaurus, who is a fellow UK nail blogger 🙂

Picture Polish Fools GoldFool’s Gold is a lovely turquoise creme, filled with tiny holographic flecks (showing as silver in my photos!) and small yellow-gold hexagonal glitter. The base colour sometimes leans a little bit paler and greener (as in the first photo), and others looks like a vibrant pure blue-turquoise (second photo).

Application: As with most Picture Polishes, the formula is brilliant. It applies smoothly, dries quickly and to a lovely shine. It’s totally opaque for me at 2 coats. My only picky point is that very occasionally it can drag leaving a bald patch but that was probably two out of my ten nails. Just apply each coat in as few strokes as possible and it’s fine. Unlike many glitters, it doesn’t need topcoat as it dries totally smooth.

As usual, being that I am absolutely obsessed with Picture Polish, I totally love it. But let me know what you think. Are you feeling more spring/summery colours as winter begins to come to an end?

You can buy Picture Polish Fool’s Gold from Rainbow Connection UK (usually here but it doesn’t appear to be in stock at the moment!) where it costs £10.75. Shipping for orders over £20 is £1. Alternatively, you can buy it from Llarowe (US), Harlow & Co (CAN), Picture Polish (AUS).
