Red-y for Spring – Rainbow Series with Pocket Money Polishes!

Hello lovelies! Today marks the beginning of a new weekly series with myself and Charlie of Pocket Money Polishes. This will be called the “Rainbow Series with Pocket Money Polishes“. Each week we will each post a colour-themed blogpost on both our blogs, so make sure you check hers out too!

As it’s the starting week, the theme is red, so I’ve picked out my top ten red nail polishes. (This was hard – it’s like asking a parent to choose their favourite child!). I really really love red polish but I don’t wear it all that often, but hopefully these posts will get me pulling out polishes I don’t normally use!

Fat Puss Polish Lazy Days

Hello everyone! I have a THERMAL polish to show you today!! If you haven’t experienced thermal yet (where have you been) it’s basically nail polish that changes colour according to temperature. So if you were to put your nail under a hot tap, it would be one colour, and then under a cold tap, it would change to another. There’s been a massive trend for them in the nail world but I personally haven’t got into them until now! (I know… where have I been…)

This one is a UK Indie polish made by Jess of Fat Puss Polish. I <3 Fat Puss! This one was actually a one-off polish not available for sale but it’s so pretty I had to share! 🙂

Maybelline Street Art Boom Box Black

Hey chickas. Today I’m sticking with the Maybelline Street Artist collection because Alley Attitude really wowed my pants off, so I just HAD to try this one! I have to admit, I wasn’t keen on this one in the bottle, but I felt like it might look pretty on the nail… so I picked it up anyway. I wasn’t disappointed!

My big challenge with this polish was finding the right ‘underwear’ to go with it. I didn’t fancy white or grey but that left a limited amount of colours that this polish would look nice with. I opted for bright pink in the end, so here I am showing 1 coat of Boom Box Black over 2 coats of Ciaté Kiss Chase.

Maybelline Street Art Alley Attitude

Hey lovely ladies. The other week I showed you Maybelline White Splatter, one of the Maybelline Street Art (or Street Artist) nail polishes – I really love these! They are really simple glitter mixes but they are super effective for brightening up a manicure or making a plain polish look more interesting. I have been wearing this manicure all day today, and I’m loving it; it reminds me of birds’ eggs! So super cute 🙂

Lately I’ve really been getting into wearing glitters over plain colours (particularly pastels!) so here I’ve used one thick coat of Maybelline Alley Attitude over two coats of Ciaté Sugar Plum (told ya I’d use the Mini Mani Month up, didn’t I?!)

Barry M Lady – Textured Nail Effects

Press Sample

Hey pretty ladies ^.^ I have a beautiful Barry M Textured polish to show you today 🙂 I feel a bit bad, I’ve worn this about four times since I was sent it, but never managed to get photos of it when I was working 9am til midnight – not enough daylight in that time!

This is one of my favourite textured polishes, it’s so so delicate and pretty! My photos don’t quite do this polish justice – it’s quite hard to capture the beautiful iridescent sparkles. I think if you struggle to wear white because it makes your hands look red, this polish is the perfect solution. It’s not as stark as pure white polish and the added sparkle really helps to keep the tone of your hands looking natural.
