Hey everyone! Feeling very tired today so this will probably be a short one! I’m getting through the Models Own Speckled Eggs polishes, so far I’ve shown you Magpie, Swan and Dove and today I have Duck to show you. One could possibly say that duck eggs are blue, although they’re definitely green-leaning (I give up on the whole deciphering names from colours thing, I don’t think they really did make the names according to the colour of the eggs… how fanciful of me!)
I didn’t expect to like this polish as much as I do but I love it! The finish is superb and my favourite finish so far. Again it’s a crelly base filled with matte black hexagonal glitter in three sizes. Really pretty and this one reminds me the most of eggs and Easter and all those lovely things.
Application:
I found that despite being on the thick side, this polish was quite workable and it was fairly easy to get it looking neat. It took 2 coats for full opacity and dried in average time, to a slightly dull finish – I’d recommend using a topcoat.
Again in future I would probably wear this at one coat over a base colour, because of the thickness but it wasn’t a massive problem with Duck 🙂
The Models Own Speckled Eggs polishes retail at £5 each and are available at the Models Own Bottleshops, and on their website, and in Boots. Models Own are currently running a promotion where you can buy 6 for £20 online, until 8th April, so you could actually buy all five Speckled Eggs and still have room for one more, for the price of just four!
