Hey everyone 🙂 if you read my review of Models Own Magpie, you’ll know I was lucky enough to win the full Models Own Speckled Eggs Collection in their Instagram giveaway! I couldn’t wait to try them all so here is my second favourite, ‘Dove’. I’m not sure where the inspiration correlates with the name here… dove eggs are a little pinky, but they’re certainly not speckled! And doves themselves can have a little pinky-peachyness to their colour… I’m not sure! Or maybe I’m reading too much into the names…!! Hehe 🙂

Models Own Dove (3) Speckled EggsDove is a lovely pastel pink crelly filled with matte black hexagonal glitter in 3 sizes. I am really pleased with this colour because often I find pastel pinks can look either very clashy with my skintone or very chalky on me, but this one is perfect! I far prefer this tone of pink (personally) to the one released by Illamasqua last year, Scarce, which was a sort of browny-nudey toned pink, very muted – it would have looked awful on me I can tell you now! (I know some of you would/do love that though :))

Application:

This was opaque at 2 coats for me. I found it to be a little on the thick side, which can cause some streakiness. Just be sure to load up the brush with plenty of polish, try not to go over the same place too many times, and leave plenty of time between coats. It dries at average speed to a semi-shiny finish; I’d recommend a quick-dry topcoat to speed up the process and finish it all off nicely. These polishes require a bit of elbow grease for removal as they are packed with glitter!!

This, like Magpie, is one that I can justify having slight application problems with, because it’s a really pretty nail varnish and the final result is well worth it.
