Barry M Nail Art Pens

I’m super excited for today’s blog post, I have fallen in love with this product from the moment I first saw the press release to the moment  I used them on my own nails: Barry M Nail Art Pens.

If you have ever used the squeezy nail art pens which are abundant in today’s market (for example, from Rio Beauty, Models Own, and various lesser-known brands) you will know that the flow of the ink/polish is quite hard to control mid-design: squeeze too much, and you are rewarded with a large splodge of polish all over your neat design; squeeze too little and you end up scratching your design into the base colour. It’s a little finicky. Enter Barry M Nail Art Pens. Now I know they aren’t the first brand to be using this design of pen, Finishing Touches by Superdrug have been using it for a while but to be honest I’ve never tried them (I have made a mental note to buy them for comparison asap!) and I know other brands such as Topshop have also used a similar pen design but you all know how much I love my Barry M, so of course I’m excited!

Rimmel Pear Drop

Hello lovelies, I have a super spring polish for you all today! I love this polish, it’s so fresh and minty. However if you aren’t a fan of frosts, look away now!

Pear Drop makes me think of sweeties, it’s probably because of the name (although I’ve never seen a bright mint green pear drop!) but it makes me think of Fairy Satins and those other satiny-finished sweets that looked like square pillows… anyone know what I mean?! I just spent about half an hour trying to find them on Google to no avail! Anyway, before I get stuck on yet another tangent…

China Glaze When Stars Collide

Last month I showed you China Glaze Infra Red, also from the Hologlam 2013 collection. For some reason, I couldn’t stop thinking about the Hologlams (probably because I’ve mentally kicked myself before for missing out on China Glaze’s Tronica collection when it was still available!) and when Nail Polish Direct came up with an offer (£5.95 each and 10% off with code ‘LOYALTYNPD’) on the Hologlams, I couldn’t resist. So I ordered a few more – When Stars Collide, Take A Trek and Strap On Your Moonboots. Not going to lie, I WANT THEM ALL! 😛 I had a little problem with my order, they sent out Sci-Fly By instead of Take a Trek but this was quickly rectified by their attentive customer service.

I wanted When Stars Collide because I’ve never seen a mauve-toned holo before, and it really intrigued me!

Barry M Dragon Fruit Gelly

I told you it was taking me ages to get through the new Gellies! I really felt like Dragon Fruit required maximum sunshine due to some beautiful hidden shimmer in it… hopefully it comes across a little in the photos. Dragon Fruit is one of Barry M’s Spring 2013 releases and wow is it springy! The latest Gelly releases include Green Berry, Lychee, Dragon Fruit and Papaya.

This one is my favourite alongside Green Berry, but this is the most ‘gel-like’ Gelly Nail Paint I have tried – I have them all so have worn them all at various points! It’s also the polish I got the most compliments on – one of my colleagues asked me if they were my real nails because she thought they looked like acrylics or gels and I’ve also worn this polish at least 3 times so far, which is pretty good going for me! I keep getting tempted to wear it again but I have to tell myself that I have several hundred ‘unblogged’ polishes waiting for their time in the limelight sooo…

Rimmel Baby Bellini

Rimmel recently released three gorgeous new ‘Cocktail Colour’ nail polishes, all of which are glassfleck-shimmers, in purple (Baby Bellini), pink (Hawaiian Punch) and orange (Shirley Temple). These are all STUNNING, although I warn you, you really really need a topcoat to realise the polish’s full potential!
