Hey there π I hope you’ve all had a good weekend! If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram you may know that I went to see Placebo over the weekend (aka the band of my entire painful teenage growing up period!) and it was A M A Z I N G! It’s nearly 6 years since I went to a proper gig – my last before this was Metallica, or the Wailers… I can’t remember π in 2009. Anywho, these are the nails I wore to see Placebo. Which was the best thing I’ve done in like, years. <3
Back for Valentines Day JustMyLook sent me a few nail polishes to create a nail art look, and since I got to choose them myself (and I love all three) I thought I’d review them for you in the next couple of weeks. One of these was OPI Snow Globetrotter, aka my favourite glitter for the last month and a bit! I’ve worn this in at least 5 manis, and I haven’t worn all that many manicures, hehe!
Snow Globetrotter (perhaps not so seasonally appropriate any more!) is a clear base, filled with all kinds of iridescent hexagonal glitters in multiple sizes, including pretty big ones, and also matte white glitter in multiple sizes too. I don’t think I’ve ever seen iridescent glitters so big! The effect of these is really pretty though, they end up looking like colourful bubbles under the surface. I love them π This isΒ 1 coat of Snow Globetrotter over 2 coats Nails Inc New York Noir.
Application: The glitter is dense so the coverage is pretty even. The large white and iridescent glitters do need a little placement though. For me one coat gives optimum coverage. It dries pretty quickly and for the most part lies flat to the nail, although the large glitters can stick out or lift over time, so I’d definitely recommend using topcoat. This also helps make the iridescent glitter extra shiny as the polish dries to only a relatively glossy finish – which is definitely improved on with topcoat!
Have I told you I love this?! I’ve been wearing it over lilac, black, dark blue, and dark purple so far… I’m definitely not ready to put this one away, even if it is Christmas-themed! For those interested, it came out as part of the OPI Holiday 2014 collection.
Let me know what you think of this glitter! It has a sister polish – Comet In The Sky, (which I’m dying to get my hands on) which substitutes matte black glitter for the while in this one. They are getting a little harder to get hold of now the further we get from Christmas!
You can buy OPI Snow Globetrotter for Β£8.35 from JustMyLook here, with free UK delivery :).
Also – anyone else been to see Placebo this year? π
