Day 9 of theย 30 Days of Untrieds Challenge: rainbow nails. Something I’ve always wanted to try! I racked my brains for this one, trying to work out what the best way of doing it would be but my mind was drawing blank, so I just went ahead with a simple gradient.

Antique Nail Art
I am going to burn myself out like crazy this month, I’m doing two nail challenges…! (What was I thinking?!). Today I am showing you these antique-inspired nails as part of the ‘Three Nail Challenge‘, devised by the lovely ladies at Mateji Ustvarjata. The basic idea behind this challenge is that there are three themes: time, favourites and adjectives. We must create a look, based on the theme of the day, once every four days (see the blog post linked above for more details!). As you can tell, I missed the first theme, ‘antique’, but since it’s not quite time for the next design I guess it’s okay… sorry ladies!
Boots 17 Orange Soda
This is my ‘day 2’ of the 30 Days of Untrieds Challenge by Polished Criminails. (Yes I know I am ages late haha, I’m hoping I’ll get back on track soon!). I was going to try to do some nail art for this one but everything I tried failed miserably so here is just a standard review!
Union Jack Jubilee Nail Art
So as we all know, it’s our good ole Queen’s Diamond Jubilee this weekend. I love celebrating being British, and I have a lot of respect for much of the Royal family. I decided to attempt Union Jack nails… they look a LOT worse in the photos than they seem to in real life, I suppose because you tend not to scrutinise real life nails like photographs allow you to! My brother thought I had nail wraps on, which is good enough for me!
If you look at my nails out of focus then they don’t look so bad ๐ This is the illusion real life has given my nail art ๐
I used:
- Barry M Navy
- Barry M Matt White
- Boots 17 Knockout Red
- Rimmel Pro Superwear Ultra Shine Topcoat
- Nail Art Brush set
Now I am not blessed with ambidexterity. I struggled using my dominant (right) hand for this so, if you want to see how my right hand turned out, well, prepare yourself for a nail fail!
I didn’t even bother to clean up – sadly I am walking round with my right hand still looking like this. Ah well.
What nails are you sporting for the Jubilee?

Easter Egg Nail Art
Last Easter I did mini egg nail art, so this year I was casting around for more inspiration. You know when you get the cute little chocolate eggs in coloured foil? That’s what inspired me this time. My camera seemed to be playing up a little, the second photo is a bit blurry (sorry!).
These were done with sellotape (lots of it!) for the straight lines and many many polishes…! Here’s what I used:
- BeautyUK Moonstone
- Max Factor Angel Nails
- 2True Shade 4 (Crystal Polish ‘Regal Purple’)
- Deborah Lippmann Glitter in the Air
- Accessorize Goddess
- Boots 17 Fury
- Models Own Indian Ocean
- OPI Rainbow Connection
Hope you like them! What did you adorn your nails with this Easter? Link me up if you have any pictures/blogposts on Easter manicures!
