Rimmel Kate Salon Pro Autumn Winter 2014

Hello everyone! I hope you’re all having a great week. I was lucky to be sent 5 of the new Rimmel ‘by Kate’ Salon Pro nail polishes – I’d actually seen these a couple of weeks ago in Boots and really loved the look of the greens so I was excited to see these! The Salon Pro polishes all have a flat wide brush, which I know can make application a little tricky for people with slim nail beds, but personally with my wide ones, it’s a bonus. All five of these nail polishes are named after planets, which really appeals to me 🙂

I adore the colours of autumn and winter and I really feel that brands nail the A/W colours better than any other colour of the year. Rimmel is no exception; take a peek at these beauties!

Enchanted Polish July 2014

Hello everyone! I’m going to stop apologising for not posting as regularly as I should because I’m clearly not very good at living up to my apologies! Anyway, I have another Enchanted Polish mystery colour today. I’ve been trying to get them all this year although unfortunately as this last time Chelsea was selling all three at once, I could only afford one so got my birth month; July! Enchanted Polishes are currently being sold on a pre-order basis, with an hour long window for buyers to purchase, and a month long window from order to receipt of the polish. I think it works brilliantly! Nobody goes crazy, no site crashes… it’s all good 🙂

July arrived the other day and I have to say when I first saw it, I wasn’t all that keen. However now that I’ve seen it on the nail, I really like it! If you have got this and aren’t keen, I’d definitely suggest wearing it once just to be sure as it looks quite different on the nail from in the bottle.

Barry M Superdrug Limited Edition Collection 2014 Review and Swatches

Hello everyone 🙂 as promised, here is the Superdrug counterpart of the Barry M Summer Limited Edition Collection 2014 🙂 I showed you the Boots duo here, and today I have two more to show you! I have to admit, in the bottle, I much preferred the Boots polishes. I looked at these two and thought something along the lines of ‘sheer shimmery pains-to-apply polishes’ – I was definitely thinking along the lines of Barry M Aqua Blue and Aqua Green, which were much more toppers than anything. I also thought the pink from these two would be a brush-stroky nightmare, and quite a dated shade. So the bar wasn’t set very high!

…I am pleased to tell you that I was wrong on all counts! A quick note on the packaging – I love that the Superdrug lids contrast with the Boots lids, which are black with white hearts! Such a nice touch 🙂

Teal I See You Again – Rainbow Series

Hey everyone! It’s that time of the week again! Every week Charlie (of Pocket Money Polishes) and I do a colour-themed post, which is called our Rainbow Series 🙂 This week we are doing slightly different colours – Charlie’s doing mint, and I’m doing teal, because I just LOVE teal!!

You may notice that the ten favourite teal polishes I picked out today are all quite similar in tone and finish, there’s definitely a lot of shimmer involved and quite a bit of glitter! Green and blue are two of my favourite colours, so combine them inside a nail polish and I’m sold!

Picture Polish Gravity

So I’m finally at the last of the Picture Polish Limited Edition Collection… these polishes are just too beautiful for words. The funny thing is, is that this time 2 years ago I’d have hated them because I hated layering, and yet these are honestly some of the most amazing duochromes and multichromes I own! The collection consists of 5 layering polishes: Altered State, Aurora, Gravity, Illusionist and Solar Flare.

I so nearly DIDN’T get Solare Flare and Gravity because I wasn’t sure I liked them, but I am so glad I did. Amazing amazing amazing!
