Barry M Rose Hip Gelly - Imagination In Colour

Barry M Rose Hip Gelly

Hey ladies! I have a really pretty pink to show you today (I told you I was going to give pink some more lovin’!) in the form of a new Gelly polish 🙂 As you probably know if you’ve been reading my blog for a while, I absolutely adore the Barry M Gelly range 🙂

I often find that pale pastel pinks can look chalky and clashy against my skin and this is the first one I’ve tried that doesn’t look terrible on me! It has a nice jellyish finish which I think really helps it to look flattering 🙂

Barry M Rose Hip Gelly 3I love the milky tinted pink feel of this polish and I think it makes for a really smart, chic appearance on the nails. I also think this is a perfect base for glitter – I put Barry M Treasure Chest over the top and it looked fab! (If I do say so myself…!). I’m a big fan, I’m really really loving these pale pale pastels this Spring, I think they’re uber flattering and brands are really beginning to master the art of creating flattering soft pastels rather than the stark, chalky pastels we’ve had for a long while. I also love the name, anything with ‘rose’ in makes me feel very peaceful so it’s a winner in my book.

Application:

The photos show 2 coats, which was totally opaque on my shorties but you may need 3 for longer nails. I did find the polish to be a little streaky, however this mostly levelled itself off with the 2nd coat. I find it can drag the pigment if you’re heavy handed so the key is to let each coat dry for at least 10 mins, before moving on to the next one. And just be gentle with your strokes. It dries fairly quickly and to a super glossy high shine 🙂

I’m a big fan of this although I know a couple of people have found the application tricky. Have you tried it? What do you think?

You can buy the Barry M Gellies from Boots, Superdrug and Barry M for £3.99 each (and they’re often on offer so keep an eye out!).
