Hello everyone! Today I have three simple but beautiful Barry M Nail Paints to show you. These have been released as part of their core line I believe, and as the name suggests (Classic Nail Paints), they are all very classic, timeless colours that flatter and complement without standing out.
These also make the perfect base colours for clear glitter toppers, and also for stamping because they are simple and understated and allow to topper to take centre stage.
Barry M Nightshade
This is a gorgeous very very deep muted purple-black creme. It’s not quite a full black colour, which makes it more flattering than a pure black (I feel). I’m not usually a big wearer of these very dark colours, but I really quite like this.
It applies beautifully – it’s nearly opaque at one coat, but I’d recommend an extra coat to be thorough. It dries quickly to a lovely glossy finish.
Barry M Vintage Violet
This is a beautiful deep mauve-toned grey creme. It puts me in mind of polishes like China Glaze Below Deck although this is definitely darker and a bit deeper. Very flattering and one you definitely need! It’s the perfect autumn shade.
Again application was great, opaque in 2 coats, dries quickly and to a lovely high shine.
This one reminded me of Barry M Cappuccino which came out a good couple of years ago, so I did a quick comparison for you all:
As you can see they are quite different.
Barry M Ballerina
Okay, this is hands down my favourite. I’ve never been one for nude nail polish, but these beautiful muted primrose pinks just really hit the spot for me. This is so pretty and so flattering on my pink skin tone. I feel so elegant wearing this, like I’m so sophisticated… no? Okay okay I can accept it, I’m by no means sophisticated but you know what I mean!
This too had excellent application – opaque at 2 coats, dries quickly and to a lovely high shine.
Overall
I think this is a really nice set of neutrals that are great for any posh do, or even potentially work appropriate. I won’t lie, they aren’t colours I naturally gravitate towards (you know how I love my bright and interesting colours!), but when the time arises for ‘sensible’ nails these will be the ones I reach for.
You can buy these for £2.99 each in Boots, Superdrug or online at barrym.com. I bought mine from Superdrug online where they have free delivery for orders over £10 :).
What do you think of these?
