Jelly Sandwich – Barry M Bright Red

Rachel-Karina at Polished Criminails has set up a “30 Days of Untrieds Challenge“, in which the idea is that you post a new manicure (using the set theme of the day) every day for 30 days, each one using at least one ‘untried’ polish. The theme today (1st September) is red. I am a little late posting this as I completely forgot it was September already…!

This is officially my first jelly sandwich, I’m quite pleased with it, although the Barry M Hologram Hexograms made it very thick as the glitter in it is quite sparse. I do love the effect though, it makes me think of flames and firey embers.

Untrieds used: Barry M Bright Red, Revlon Belle, Barry M Hologram Hexograms.

What I used (in order of use):

  • 1 coat Barry M Bright Red
  • 2 coats Revlon Belle
  • 2 coats Barry M Hologram Hexograms
  • 1 coat Barry M Bright Red

In retrospect I should have skipped the 2nd coat of each of the glitters to keep it nice and thin but I wanted a really prominent effect. This mani looked a million time better in person as the light would hit the glitter at all angles and give a multi-faceted appearance, so the photos only tell half the story.

Have you ever tried a jelly sandwich? What are your best glitters to use in the middle?
