Day 4 of the 30 Days of Untrieds Nail Challenge is ‘green’. So I have a green-blue duochrome for you! I am cheating a little – I took these photos on holiday a few weeks back (as you can probably tell from the length of my nails) but I hope you don’t mind!
I believe Topshop Eclipse is a dupe of Nails Inc Swiss Cottage and Eye Candy London according to Vic at Glowstars, and looking at online swatches, I think it’s pretty close to China Glaze Unpredictable too. I loved Topshop Hidden Treasure (Chanel Peridot Dupe) and thought green duochrome couldn’t get any better until I saw Eclipse on my nails. It was love at first sight. It reminds me of the sea and mermaid-esque designs and beaches, I just love it! The best part is that the duochrome is actually really strong – no shrinking wallflower here!
Application:
The polish was opaque in 2 coats, although occasionally you will find a tiny streak without shimmer on your nail which may require a third coat to cover. Eclipse is brushstrokey. So try your best to paint in one direction only and you’ll be fine. I did find that it took slightly longer than usual dry-time, so be aware of this when applying your second coat. I always feel that these foily-finish polishes would look weird with a top coat, like it wouldn’t gel properly, but I know it looks just fine with a topcoat.
Have you tried any of the Topshop duochromes? This is a firm favourite in my books!
