Teal I See You Again – Rainbow Series

Hey everyone! It’s that time of the week again! Every week Charlie (of Pocket Money Polishes) and I do a colour-themed post, which is called our Rainbow Series ūüôā This week we are doing slightly different colours – Charlie’s doing mint, and I’m doing teal, because I just LOVE teal!!

You may notice that the ten favourite teal polishes I picked out today are all quite similar in tone and finish, there’s definitely a lot of shimmer involved and quite a bit of glitter! Green and blue are two of my favourite colours, so combine them inside a nail polish and I’m sold!

A England Saint George

Remember when I showed you the gorgeous lilac-nude-duochrome-holo that was A England Princess Tears? Well today I have for you an equally gorgeous teal-green-holo! This is another one which has zoomed right up into my top favourite ever polishes. I was lucky enough to be able to capture this one in the sun, which is where the holo is most apparent.

A England Saint George St George and the dragon green blue teal holo holographic nail polish multicoloured rainbow effect forest green sea UK Indie brand Adina close up¬†Green-lovers and holo-addicts unite – this one’s AMAZING. I feel I should stress that the holographic effect of this polish isn’t always visible – I found it looked almost like a teal with silver shimmer in some lower lights. The holo effect isn’t nearly as strong as in GOSH Holographic. The sun really does make this polish come to life though, and I almost love it more for its hidden holographic quality.

Application:

The polish was opaque at 2 coats, as shown in the photos. It dried to a high shine, so no topcoat necessary (although topcoat seems to intensify the holographic effect!). Saint George dried relatively quickly¬†too. I did find the brush was a little tricky to control in that it’s quite round, which made getting into the corners of my nails neatly quite a task! But I really can’t fault it. When I removed the polish, my fingers did go very green but that was easily removed with polish remover.

What do you think of Saint George? It’s easily a winner in my books. EASILY. The depth of the polish makes me think of mythical sea creatures and dragons… polish heaven!

A England Saint George is available from A-England.co.uk¬†¬†for¬†¬£9. A England offer free delivery worldwide! As it’s an indie brand I am more than happy to splash out the extra cash for it, and I really think this one earns its price and more.

I am currently lusting after pretty much ALL of their polishes. Which is your favourite?

A England Princess Tears

Hello all! I’m sorry for being away for a while – my camera has broken and I kind of lost the motivation to blog. I do still have a few old photos left in my ‘unblogged’ folder, so I’ll try and get those up in the meantime. I’m thinking of doing a blogsale to raise funds for my new camera, but with the price of postage these days it makes many of the cheaper polishes more expensive than when you buy them instore, so I’ll have to put some thought into that! Any ideas?

Anyways, before my camera broke, I managed to snap this beautiful lilac holo-duochrome. Super pretty!

A England Princess Tears Purple Holo holographic nail polish adina indie brand uk lilac pale duochrome lavender pink close up¬†Such a gorgeous finish! The polish seems to be a holographic lilac-shimmer polish, it has a lovely duochrome effect with the pinky-lilac shimmer creating this lovely muted finish. I think if you wanted to wear holo in the office, this is the way to do it! I really love how flattering this was on my skin tone, and I think it’s one of those shades that will be flattering for everyone.

Application:

The photos show 2 coats. And the formula was PERFECT – applied smoothly and evenly, no streaking, no dragging, GOSH Holographic eat your heart out! The polish dried¬†quickly, and to a high shine. I’d add a topcoat for longevity if you plan to wear it for a few days. I literally cannot fault this polish, I love everything about it and it is worth every penny of its ¬£9 price tag. The holographic effect is more subtle than that of GOSH Holographic, but when it catches direct light it is more than visible!

A England polishes can be bought from the A England Website, where they cost £9 each, with free shipping worldwide!

I wanted to quickly show you my new hair – the left is the ‘before’ (I’d just woken up – lol) and the right is the ‘after’. I used two bottles of Schwarzkopf ‘Red Passion’. I did this roughly a week ago and it’s already begun to fade back to the original brown, frustratingly!

Today is my 3rd anniversary with my boyfriend Andy. It’s so weird to think 3 years ago today, he took me up to a field by his house to watch a sunset, and that’s where we shared our first kiss <3 time flies. I love you Andy! xxx

Hope you are all having a good day! Let me know what you think about the blogsale idea – how do you think I could make it more cost-effective for you guys? Also does anyone own the Canon EOS 600D – is it a camera you’d recommend?! Thank you so much!

Finally, I am going to try to keep updating my blog until I have my new camera (which could be a week or two, maybe three!) but because I will be using my Andy’s iPod camera, I will probably only post nail art posts as the quality is not as good as I feel a decent polish needs if I am to review it accurately!
