Stellar Polish Swatches - Imagination In Colour

Stellar Polish Swatches

Press Sample

Hello everyone! You may remember a little while ago I showed you swatches of Stellar Polish Come Away With Me (Norah Jones), which I adored! UK indie brand Stellar is the brainchild of my lovely friend Ruth, who has such a wonderful eye for colour! She’s sent me three minis to try, which are all super pretty! All the polishes are named after the song that inspired each individual colour, which I think is lovely. I’ll let the piccies do the talking!

Stellar Polish Going Under Evanescence
Going Under (Evanescence)

This is a lovely deep teal base packed with green shimmer, that has a really pretty subtle pink flash. It’s so deep and beautiful. And honestly this one is my fave! I layered 2 coats of Going Under over 1 coats of Barry M Guava Gelly.

Application-wise, this was fantastic, it’s opaque at about 2-3 coats and has an amazing depth. I only layered it to bring out the full colour 🙂 it applies evenly and it dries quickly too. It’s quite shiny, but it looks even more fab with a layer of topcoat. This one is just perfect 🙂

Stellar Polish Pink Aerosmith
Pink (Aerosmith)

This is a really pretty semi-sheer pink shimmer base, filled with fuchsia glitter, iridescent blue/purple glitter of two sizes, and silver hearts! It’s a gorgeous mixture that I’d never have thought of! I layered 2 coats of Pink over 1 coat of OPI Koala Bear-y, to bring out the full colour and avoid doing a third coat, as it may have got a little chunky and I didn’t want to hide the hearts!

Pink applied well, it takes about 3 coats for full opacity, by which point it gets a tiny bit chunky because of the lovely dense glitter so it’s excellent for layering. It dries really quickly to a matte finish, which looks equally as gorgeous as with topcoat, I love it both ways! I managed to get all the hearts you see out with no fishing, and I found them easier to place individually. I always choose to use topcoat with larger glitters to protect them but a matte topcoat would also work well to preserve the finish.

Stellar Polish I Dont Care As Long As You Sing Beatsteaks
I Don’t Care As Long As You Sing (Beatsteaks)

This polish is a gorgeous browny-aubergine purple base, filled with gorgeous fuchsia and turquoise glitters! I was really wowed by this one, the glitters really pop against the dark base and it’s a really pretty, edgy colour. Very unique! I layered 1 coat of I Don’t Care As Long As You Sing over 1 coat of OPI Lincoln Park After Dark. This polish is really awesome because it dries down to quite a textured finish… I don’t know how you do it Ruth but it’s awesome!! There’s so much glitter in there that even at just one coat you get a lovely dense, even coverage of glitter.  I chose to put topcoat on to see how it would look that way too.

This one is really lovely and opaque, it takes just 2 coats for full opacity but as the glitter is so dense I chose to layer it instead. It dries nice and quickly and to a quite matte finish, adding to the textured type concept, which I love! It is a little topcoat-hungry, I used 2 coats of quick-dry topcoat for this finish, which was fine as it dries quick!

I love all of these polishes, they’re all totally unique to my collection and so pretty!! What do you think?

Ruth currently has a ‘Pay Day Sale’ on her polishes; full size polishes £5, if you buy 4 then it’s free postage!  – If you want to order, check out the Stellar Polish Facebook page and send Ruth a message on there!
