Hey there everyone! I have another exciting collection to show you from Stellar Nail Polish, a UK Indie Nail Polish brand created by my lovely friend Ruth. If you missed the Stellar Christmas Collection, you can see it here. This time, I’m reviewing the New Year collection, created specially for New Year’s celebrations. As you’d expect, these nail polishes are fun and bright and perfect for a party!
All of the nail polishes are named after Elvis Presley songs. I have to confess – I’ve never really listened to Elvis, but I always love a good namesake! 🙂
The photos show one coat of Love Me Tender over 2 coats of A England Bridal Veil. Love Me Tender is a glitter topcoat – it consists of a clear base, matte blue and pink squares, iridescent green/blue squares and matte pink and purple flowers. It’s a really cute combination and I love the colours together. It works perfectly over black, but also looks great over lilac or grey.
Application:Â There was plenty of the square glitter to go around and I didn’t really have to place them. What you see is a single coat. I did have to ‘fish’ ever so slightly for the flowers but that suits me better as I prefer to place them individually anyway. The base is a little thick, so be careful to apply just a thin coat (to keep dry-time to a minimum). No qualms here for me! Use topcoat to finish the whole thing off with a lovely shine.
This is one coat of Viva Las Vegas over 2 coats of Illamasqua Poke. Viva Las Vegas is a glitter topper, consisting of a clear base, and matte blue, pink and green squares, as well as matte purple, green, yellow, blue and pink stars. A lovely combination!
Application:Â The base of this one was quite thick, but again there were no issues with glitter density. I didn’t have to fish for the stars, and it was easy to get even coverage. Again just be a little careful while applying to keep the coats thin. Add topcoat for shine.
This is 1 coat of Rock-A-Hula Baby over 2 coats of Color Club Gimme A Grape Big Kiss. This one too is a glitter topper, consisting of a clear base, with matte blue and green squares, matte pink and green bar glitter, small matte pink hexagons, slightly bigger matte orange hexagons, and large matte yellow, orange, pink and blue hexagons.
Application:Â This one was a little more sparse on the glitter, but I think that actually works well given all the different colours in the mix. As such I had to remove some excess base to ensure I had a good amount of glitter but still with a thin coat, but nothing major. Finish with topcoat for a nice shine. Easy!
This is 1 coat of Aloha ‘Oe over 2 coats of Picture Polish Wisteria. This is the final glitter topcoat of the collection, and this one consists of a clear base, tiny matte peachy-orange hexagons, yellow and pink matte bar glitter, medium matte orange hexagons, large matte pink, blue, orange and green and yellow hexagons, and matte purple, yellow, green, pink  and blue stars. It’s a good old eclectic mix, but I love it!
Application: The base is thick and the glitter is sparse, like in Rock-A-Hula Baby, but again I think this works best for the amount of colours included in the glitter. Just be careful to keep the coats thin. I didn’t have to fish for the star glitters so that front was all good. Add topcoat for full shine.
Overall
I love these glitters and I think they are all just perfect for the party season! My personal favourites are Love Me Tender and Viva Las Vegas, but all are fabulous. I loved matching pretty bases to the colours in the glitter. They remind me of fireworks so they will look brilliant for New Years Eve celebrations!
You can buy Stellar Nail Polish from their Etsy store here, for just £6.00 each – so worth it for a beautiful handmade product! 🙂  The bottles you buy are full-sized, while the ones I am showing here are minis, so you will get a lot more for your money than in the small bottles I am holding.
The New Years collection will go on sale on 28th/29th December, just in time for the celebrations! 🙂
Which one is your favourite?! 🙂
