Jacava London Oxford Street - Imagination In Colour

Jacava London Oxford Street

Press Sample

Hello lovelies! Today I have another pretty nail varnish from Jacava London. As I said in my review of Regent Street, my favourite thing about this brand is their great ethical values. They are 8-Free, which means they are free from  DBP, Camphor, Formaldehyde, Toluene, Formaldehyde Resin/Tosylamide, Parabens, Phthalates and Animal Ingredients. They are also cruelty-free and vegan… there’s no blotting that copybook! I do love when a brand takes the initiative to forge forwards with good ethics, it makes a nice change from all the ones that just do it for compliance.

Jacava London Oxford Street (2)

Jacava London Oxford Street (3)This is two coats of Oxford Street over two coats of Rimmel Raw As Night (swatches of that to come!). Oxford Street is a raspberry-red jelly, filled with silver holographic hexagonal glitters, in one size. This makes me think of jam, with its jelly-like appearance and seeds, only these ones are holo! The Jacava website describes it as “A mouthwatering redcurrant compote with intermittent bursts of iridescence that will keep you enraptured. This exciting nail polish shade is inspired by the vibrancy of London’s Oxford Street.” I do love the way they’ve described it as a compote – it really does fit the polish! I love the depth that this jelly has… it’s beautiful!

Application:

As it’s a jelly, this takes a good 3-4 coats for full opacity on it’s own. It’s also a little bit thick, so I decided it would be better off layered. It’s not as thick as Regent Street though! It dries in average time, but to a lovely glossy finish. I would recommend using a topcoat to make the most of the holo glitter. The glitter density was good, and only required a little bit of adjustment to get them evenly across the nail.

Overall I found this polish a lot easier to apply than Regent Street… but equally as beautiful. Whilst Oxford Street normally retails at £14.50, Jacava have recently hit 180 thousand likes on the Jacava Facebook page, so they are currently having a 50% off sale! You just need to enter the code “JACAVASALE” in the basket before you hit checkout. The minimum spend after discount is £22. There’s some lovely colours available so make sure you check them out before the sale ends! 😀
