Hey everyone – hope you all had an amazing Christmas?! I’m so sorry I went briefly missing, I unfortunately came down with the most horrendous tonsillitis… I literally spent 3 days intermittently sleeping and waiting to fall asleep with high fever, difficulty breathing/swallowing etc. Thankfully I am much better now, and it didn’t ruin my Christmas day, I still managed to eat some mash and gravy! I’ve had it twice now this year so I’m hoping I’ve not become ‘prone’ to it.
I have a lovely festive polish to show you today… I’ve been wanting this polish ever since I saw the first swatches. I’m still after Zoya Stevie… and not just because I love the TV show! The Zoya Pixie Dusts are Zoya’s take on textured polish. In my opinion, Zoya really do it the best, they’re just hard to get hold of in the UK!
Miranda is a gorgeous cherry pink polish with a beautiful ‘frosted-sugar’ effect… I really, really love this. It’s every bit as pretty as I hoped for. While it dries to a matte finish, the glitter sparkles SO much! This makes me feel really festive and yet I think you could easily wear this all year round.
Application:
My brush is a little splayed so for me application was a little challenging, but usually Zoya bottles have a really nice, easy-to-use brush so my experience won’t be the same for everyone. In terms of the polish, it’s an easy-to-control polish with good consistency so with a good brush you shouldn’t have a problem. It’s opaque at 2 coats which is super awesome for this tone of colour – in a normal polish of this shade you often find it needs a lot of coats for true opacity. It dries a little slowly, and obviously being a textured polish you can’t just slap on a quick-dry topcoat and still have the textured effect. However it is still very pretty with topcoat, as shown above :). The finish is a little bumpy, a little like the feeling of the caps on the Nails Inc Concrete polishes!
Overall, this polish doesn’t disappoint! It’s textured, it’s sparkly and muted at the same time… I love it!
I actually bought mine second hand from a Nail Sale page on Facebook, but you can also get Zoya Miranda from Nail Polish Direct, eBay and some other online stores for around the £10 mark :).
