Hello! I’m back with a new brand to show you all. Say hello to ‘Tami Beauty‘, a Scottish nail brand that also specialises in health, beauty and fitness advice. I was lucky enough to be sent one of their new polishes to try, and with excitement I chose ‘Lady of Lomond’. From what I understand, Tami Beauty is an independent (‘indie’) nail brand, but unlike many indie brands, they are actually made in a factory. They are 3-free and cruelty free, so no qualms there!
If you’ve watched my Boyfriend Tag video, you will know that my family used to take annual holidays into the depths of Scotland, as well as to the Hebrides. We would always stop off at Luss, which is on the bank of Loch Lomond, on the way up. It’s become somewhat of a haven for me, especially because at the height of my anxiety it provided an escape from the normal stresses that were going on at the time, and so it gives me strong feelings of peace and dare I say it… ZEN! So I was super excited to try a polish named after one of my favourite places in the world.
Lady of Lomond has an amazing shimmery seafoam green base that is holographic! It’s hard to tell through the glitter but it looks to be a linear holo – yay! (My pictures don’t show this too well because the sparkle of the glitter distorted the visual of the holo base – sorry!). The holo looks amazing in direct light and sunlight, while in normal lighting it takes the back seat and lets the glitter do the talking. The glitter is blue and yellow-gold holo, and very tiny – to be honest I wasn’t that keen on the glitter in the bottle but on the nail it’s just perfect, the holographic nature of it makes it really sparkle, even in dull lighting! If you couldn’t tell, I’m a massive fan.
Application:
When I saw it was a holographic polish, and with glitter, I expected it to be a bit of a pain to apply. How wrong I was! The formula is absolutely perfect – the polish flows nicely, it’s thin but not watery and applies evenly. The photos show 2 coats for total opacity. On top of that it dries really quickly too. The finish is a little bumpy with the glitter – but that was solved with an extra coat of topcoat. I’ve been wearing this for 3 days straight without a basecoat, and I STILL have no chips or tipwear which is practically unheard of for me.
I am suitably impressed and would definitely recommend this polish to you all, not least for its fab formula but also for the stunning finish.
You can buy Lady of Lomond, along with the other two polishes (Gleneagles Glamour and Skibo Sunset) in the Scottish Showcase collection, on the Tami Beauty website here, for £10 each, and free shipping! You can also buy the full set of three for £25 posted for a limited time, which is awesome 🙂 While £10 seems a little steep, when you consider that that includes postage, and packaging, you’re not much worse off than when you buy a polish for £7 with postage.
Let me know what you think of this polish, I have a feeling it will be popular!
