Little bit of simple nail art for you today! I will start this post by stating that I was inspired by a purple dotted manicure on the Nail Polish Wars blog. It popped up on Pinterest and I couldn’t resist putting my own spin on it.

Barbara Daly Starlight
This is the polish I wore underneath Barry M Croc Effects - it’s the perfect ensemble for a sophisticated do 
The pictures show 2 coats, although I think if I had longer nails I would add a third for good measure. Starlight is a gorgeous champagney-silvery-gold foil. It’s subtle in that it doesn’t add a huge amount of colour to the nail but it does draw attention with its shimmery goodness! It’s a bit of a colour-changer too, in the first photo it looks quite a saturated gold, moving through to a very pale, silvery gold in the final photo. Very elegant.
Application:
I can’t really fault it, it glides on and dries quickly, and there were no bald patches.
I know there are dupes out there for this one, but perhaps not so accessible to us UK ladies as those of you in the US. Also I think MaxFactor do a very similar mini, but the Barbara Daly mini (7ml) costs £3 in Tesco, where the MaxFactor mini (4.5ml) costs £3.99. And Barbara Daly is often on 3 for 2 – who is the clear winner?
Have any of you tried Barbara Daly polishes? I have 5 now, all are very much cherished in my collection! I bought Starlight when I was feeling very festive right before Christmas

Updated Nail Polish Collection
This isn’t a showing off post, au contrare, I wish I had more – lol.
I thought that maybe for the benefit of you all I would put up some photos of my current collection, and say for example you want to see a picture of a particular polish I happen to own you can let me know in the comments box. I will also link pictures I have already taken when I name the polishes, if that makes any sense. Basically click the blue words if you want to see the pics.

Here is my storage, I managed to find a large shoebox which will fit perfectly for the next 20 or so polishes, then I suppose I’ll have to move on to bigger and better boxes.
So this is going to seem like a tiny collection to certain among you who will no doubt have about ten times the amount that I do 
Believe you me I plan on expanding my collection for ever and always to the extent that income allows. Haha.

Nail Polish Collection As Of 13th January 2011
Considering I only had about 4 nail polishes at the beginning of December… I have gone a bit nail polish mental! Maybe it’s just the colours, I hate routine and since buying/receiving all these polishes I have been changing them every day lol – until my nails split at which point I realised I should really consider the health of my nails before abusing them

If you haven’t heard of ChitChat, it’s from Poundland (don’t judge me 
) they aren’t actually that bad, they have a much nicer smell than most nail polishes (though I don’t know whether that means they are cheapie harmful fumes!!!) and they do look really lovely over the top of some polishes. They are too sheer really to wear alone, and I wouldn’t say they are of great staying quality! Hence why I would only use them over the top of another polish.

Hence why I would only use them over the top of another polish.The two unknown polishes are from a makeup box given to me for my birthday last year, which I would definitely recommend. It isn’t tested on animals (BUAV approved), and the eyeshadows particularly are of fairly good quality considering the price. It’s called PrettyPink, and is (or was!) from Argos.
In total I think I have 42 coloured polishes and 2 Topcoat Basecoats, and I don’t think I’ll be stopping any time soon!
