Purple Dotted Nail Art

Little bit of simple nail art for you today! I will start this post by stating that I was inspired by a purple dotted manicure  on the Nail Polish Wars blog. It popped up on Pinterest and I couldn’t resist putting my own spin on it.

What I used:

  • 2 coats of BeautyUK Jelly Bean (I did try to take photos of this for a review post but I made a bit of a mess so I’ll need to redo the photos in the future- for full swatches see Liloo’s post on the BeautyUK Candy Collection!)
  • Barbara Daly Amethyst
  • Barry M Lilac Foil
  • Barry M Berry Ice Cream
  • Barry M Matt White
  • Barry M Vivid Purple
  • Barry M Retro 5 Tainted Love
  • Ciaté Showgirl
  • Color Club Alter Ego
  • Dotting tool, large and medium sizes

The best thing about this look is that it really doesn’t need a lot of time or skill to do – simply dot the dotting tool into a little blob of each polish and dot it onto the nail! The addition of Ciaté Showgirl was what made it eyecatching in person, so if you’re using  a different set of colours, make sure you use one totally different to off-set the others!

In retrospect I should have added a topcoat but this was just one of those late-afternoon experiments so I didn’t really think about it at the time unfortunately!

What’s your easiest nail art look?

I love it 😀 my cheap ‘ cheerful nail art is two-tone nails where you put one colour on then put another colour on diagonally across the nail…

    • Ooh sounds fab, I love that idea! Cheap and Cheerful sometimes make the best 😉 xx

  • Mel

Love it! I saw this kinda design on pinterest too, and thought I might try it. I love the idea of one really contrasting colour to highlight the rest… I might have to pinch that idea for work too!

    • I think I repinned it from your board! Ooh 😀 how is your work getting on? xxx

  • Colouratyourfingertips

This is an absolutely stunning design! I have never seen anything like it before! I like the way that you have used all purple tones, and how this could easily be changed to whatever colour you wanted to!

    • Aww thank you 😀 yeah I like the simplicity, I think it would look good as a rainbow type manicure too using all different colours 😀 xx
