Scofflaw Whiskey Tango Foxtrot

Hey lovelies, today I have a new indie to my collection which will sit pride of place (does anyone else find that once you are indie-addicted all the mainstream polishes are suddenly oh-so-boring? lol). This one is perfect in colour, perfect in opacity, perfect in application, everything. I can’t recommend it enough! I really didn’t want to take this polish off when it eventually chipped.

 The base is somewhere between mint and seafoam green, it’s such a perfect colour! It’s a jelly base, but it’s quite buildable. The photos show 2 coats, so I suppose it’s bordering on a crelly (creme-jelly – basically somewhere inbetween the opacity of a creme and the sheer squishyness of a jelly). The base is a perfect opacity because the glitters from lower layers are easily seen through the top layers and yet the base opacity isn’t compromised. There’s so many glitters going on here, I’m going to try and list them but forgive me if a few are wrong/missing! I think we have: gold microglitter, white microglitter, white small hexes, white larger hexes, white squares, red squares, brown hexes, black hexes and some smalller red hexes. Basically it’s a gorgeous combination, whatever it is!

Application:

Honestly this polish was so good when it came to application; smooth, even pigmentation and good glitter payoff (not too much, not too little) and I had no problems getting the glitter out of the bottle and keeping it in one place on the nail. The polish dried relatively quickly, and had a lovely smooth finish. It dried ever so slightly on the dull side so I added topcoat just to finish it all off. The photos all show 2 coats and you couldn’t see any of my free edge in person, my camera just seems to be hypersensitive to even the tiniest pigment differences.

I love love love this polish, and I’m dying for the Llarowe Scofflaw restock so I can buy them all some more. I really really really love the look of Flotsam & Jetsam. In fact I NEED it in my life asap! I love the packaging design too, it just looks perfect to my eyes, it’s probably one of my favourite bottles of all time 🙂

The polish itself costs $11 (about £7 right now), so if you were to buy Scofflaw Whiskey Tango Foxtrot on it’s own from Llarowe it would cost you £12.66 at today’s exchange rate, which to me really isn’t bad for a handmade, good quality indie nail polish all the way from the US, considering Butter London, Nails Inc and OPI all range around a similar price in the UK currently. And of course the more polishes you buy the less per polish you pay, because the postage is combined. I bought 5 HARE polishes and the postage was still $14ish dollars (which is the same for 3 polishes). The best part is that Llarowe marks the package down so you hopefully won’t get hit by customs.
