Scofflaw Little Edie In The Grey Gardens

Hey everyone, how are you all today? I was looking back over my old blogposts the other day, and I realised I never put anything much of my life in these any more. Is that something that you liked or something you don’t miss? In case you’re interested, I’m still looking for a job to no avail… I’m trying hard not to let it get me down but every few days it does get on top of me! I’m really glad to have my blog to create some consistency in my life… at the moment it’s mostly job-hunting and keeping the flat tidy, it’s very boring! Anyway, hope you’re well. I’m going down memory lane tonight and listening to The Eagles – Hotel California 🙂

Scofflaw Little Edie In The Grey Gardens (4)Little Edie In The Grey Gardens is a lovely soft grey base with green veins of shimmer, filled with matte coral pink hexagonal glitter in two sizes, matte pastel yellow hexagons, matte lilac squares, small metallic pink glitter and slightly larger chartreuse metallic glitter (I could pretend that my eyeballs recognised the chartreuse colour but it’s actually detailed on the Scofflaw website, hehe!). It’s a really odd combination but it looks so so fab. Growing up I always used to love these sorts of colours together, I don’t so much these days but this polish brought me back to it slightly! I believe it’s inspired by a 1975 documentary called ‘Grey Gardens’… I’ve never watched it personally but I know it’s quite popular across the pond!

Application:

I half expected this to be a bit of a thick gloopy nightmare… but it wasn’t! The polish applied really evenly with good glitter density, no fishing, and was totally opaque at 2 coats. It also dries quickly, to a semi-matte finish. When it dries down the large coral glitter tends to stick out a little but this is fixed with topcoat.

Overall very pleased with this pretty nail varnish. The name is cute, and polish even cuter! I fully expected that I’d need to layer this to avoid a chunky finish but it’s perfect as-is. I love when I’m pleasantly surprised in this way 🙂

I bought my Scofflaw Cloud Cuckoo Land from Llarowe. It was in stock in Rainbow Connection for just £8.50, but it seems to have sold out very quickly! For those of you in the US, Finch (creator of Scofflaw) will be restocking it on 17th March, 8pm CST on the Scofflaw site. If you’re in the UK and after this polish my best suggestion is to keep an eye out for it on Facebook swap pages as it does pop up from time to time. There are a fair few, just search for terms like ‘polish sales’ and ‘nail sale’ on Facebook and select ‘Groups’ 🙂

Another bonus for today is a game I’ve become slightly addicted to… it’s called Achievement Unlocked Three… check it out haha 😀
