Hey my lovelies! I have something a bit different to show you today. I’ve been feeling the urge to share more than just nail polish on here for a while, being that I am female and I wear makeup and use hair and body products every day, I feel like I’m missing on a whole load of my other obsessions hobbies. As far as makeup goes I tend to like to keep my mascara, eyeliner, brows, foundation, powder and bronzer the same – I’ll talk about these soon if this post goes well! I do however love to change up my eyeshadow and lately my lips. I was never a lip product fan really, I always felt that my lips were the one part of my face that seemed to be all one colour and didn’t really need enhancing. However, like with nail polish, I have become a bit of a lip product junkie!! I don’t know how this happened but I currently own around 30 lip products…!
Anyways. I have been really enjoying stick balms for quite some time, Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey, Soap & Glory Gloss Sticks in Fuchsia-ristic and Plum Jam, and Seventeen Lip Crayon in Knockout, to name a few. And then this one caught my eye; the packaging suckered me in and before I knew it it was bought and safely in my bag within minutes. I don’t regret it though, I’ve been loving this all week!
Please excuse the awkward face; I haven’t taken a selfie since I was 15 so I have lost the knack! 😛
Demure is a slightly peachy tone with shimmer. I’m not normally one for shimmery lip products but the shimmer in this is very subtle and gives a nice overall sheen rather than being frosty. The scent is the same as the Balm Stains; a strong minty aroma – I’m still not sure I like that in a lip product but I can live with it.
The consistency of it is more that of a balm than the Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains, but not quite as glossy as the Soap & Glory Gloss Sticks. For me this is a happy medium because it’s not sticky, it has quite a buildable level of pigment (it takes me two coats for a nice coverage) and it’s not as drying as the Balm Stains were. However this will show up any dead/peeling skin on your lips so make sure you use a good scrub before you apply!
It lasts a fair while but won’t withstand much in the way of drinks or food, I usually have to reapply twice or more during the day.
The Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balms are in Boots and Superdrug currently for £7.99 which I personally find a little steep, but I won’t say no when they’re on offer! There are 5 shades in the range, and there are also 5 matte shades in the Colorburst Matte range too, for those of you who prefer a matte finish!
Let me know what you thought of my first lip post – eek! 😀
