Hello everyone! I’m back! The move has gone well, apart from quite a few hiccups on behalf of our letting agency… but we are loving it here. This evening we had a long walk along the beach which feels like such a luxury. Hope you’re all well!
I have a beautiful gem of a nail polish to show you today. Unfortunately it is USA-exclusive so it is a little hard to get hold of in the UK – I bought Butter London Scouse from Active Beauty with brilliant price, delivery time, and packaging – this is definitely one I would recommend. It also pops up on eBay and Amazon, and on different salon sites from time to time with competitive prices; I would use Google Shopping for a breakdown and comparison of prices and stockists.
Scouse is a beautiful bright sapphire blue flecked foil polish with a strong pinky-purple duochrome. I just couldn’t catch the duochrome in the camera, but it’s strong! Andy thought I was wearing purple polish and asked me when I’d found time to change my nails in the 30 mins between noticing it had ‘turned blue’! It’s a very bright, bold colour, and due to its reflective nature it’s incredibly eye-catching.
Application:
Scouse is sheer, and also quite streaky. The photos show 3 generous coats and you could still see some free edge at certain angles. For the most part though it’s opaque; in some lights it’s so reflective you can’t see the free edge. It dries fairly quickly, although at 3 coats I’d recommend using a quick-dry topcoat to speed the process up a bit. It also dries slightly dull, so again I’d recommend topcoat.
While application leaves a little to be desired, I think it’s worth it for such a pretty polish!
Butter London Scouse costs £12 and is available at the sites mentioned at the top of the post. This isn’t always available online, being that it’s USA-exclusive, so if you want it I’d snap it up while you can! I think this could technically be classed as hard to find (HTF) in the UK so £12 isn’t so bad when you look at it that way ;).
What nail polish are you willing to go the extra mile with on application just because it’s beautiful?
