Barry M have released 5 new glitter polishes; Silver Multi Glitter, Aqua Glitter, Gold Glitter, Pink Silver Glitter and Magenta Glitter. Magenta Glitter is Superdrug exclusive, while the others you can find in both Superdrug and Boots.
Magenta Glitter has the same two sizes of glitter as Aqua Glitter, but seems to have less of the larger hexagonal glitter – the polish needs one more coat than Aqua Glitter to be totally opaque.
The perfect glitter for any girlie-girl, and indeed for the rest of us too! This instantly reminded me of Nubar Petunia Sparkle, the infamous pink glitter which costs £7.20 at feelunique.com but is opaque in 2 coats! However if your budget doesn’t stretch that far, Barry M’s Magenta Glitter is a mere £2.99, with the added bonus of being sparse enough to be used as a topcoat, while also being buildable to an opaque finish. More versatile, methinks. The finish is slightly different from that of Barry M Aqua Glitter – the larger hexagonal glitter is barely visible in person at 4 coats while with Aqua Glitter is was very apparent.
Application:
The photos all show the polish at 4 coats. You could use just two if you were wearing a similar coloured polish underneath, though. The polish dried quickly, as with most glitters, and mostly dried with a slightly sandpapery gritty finish – however this was not the case on all my nails, some were fairly smooth. Removal was average for a glitter – at 4 coats it was very stubborn but not so bad at 2 coats.
I love the colour of this polish, such a vibrant pink with a hint of purple – almost fuchsia. I think it would look a lot like Revlon Facets of Fuchsia with one coat over a black creme polish. Very useful as a topcoat, and a lovely party/night-out polish! You cannot miss it, it’s so glitzy and eye catching.
What do you think of Magenta Glitter?
