Wing Dust Perfect Day - Imagination In Colour

Wing Dust Perfect Day

Soooo I failed a little – I missed yesterday’s blogmas post, sorry ladies! <3 I do have a gorgeous polish to show you today so hopefully it’s worth the wait.

In recent months my indie collection has had a bit of an explosive growth – little over a year ago I didn’t own a single indie but now I have a lot (oh god, there is actually so many I’m ashamed…). For those of you who don’t know, indie polish is ‘independent’ polish, usually either handmade or private labelled by an individual person. I myself am an ‘indie maker’ here in the UK, which I think gives me an appreciation for everything that goes into each bottle, so I am happy to support handmade! <3

Wing Dust is currently one of my favourite brands, every single collection holds several gems and it definitely inspires me too.

When would you ever find a mainstream brand mixing all of this together into a polish, ever?

Perfect Day is a big old mixture. The base colour is sky blue with a hint of grey, with pink shimmer (invisible in the photos but there in person!) and blue shimmer, filled with actual gold leaf flakes (swoon), white hex glitter, blue hexes, gold hexes, iridescent green/blue hexes and baby blue hexes, all in different sizes! The base is sheer enough that you can see multiple layers through it, giving it an underwater-type feel.

Application:

Due to all the glitter Perfect Day is a little on the thick side, which makes application a tiny bit challenging – just remember to use even strokes and try not to go over the same place twice. That being said the glitter didn’t drag and after the first coat it was fairly easy-going. The polish dries quickly, to a slightly dull finish – I would recommend using at least one coat of topcoat to make it shine :).  It took me 2-3 coats for opacity – the photos show three, as there was the white shadow of my free edge poking through at two. Alternatively you could layer one coat over a similar blue – Barry M Blue Moon would be my choice.

I bought this beauty at Rainbow Connection – my new favourite e-shop EVER – it’s an indie distributor in the UK, run by the lovely Annette, where you can find a huge selection of US indies that she imports. No more worrying about international postage – this site gives wonderful access-for-all to some beautiful polishes. My only issue is trying to cut my cart down to a justifiable amount!! I spent a good hour and a half browsing the site, filling up my cart, emptying it again, and finally settling on four! Wing Dust Perfect Day cost me £9.50, it’s currently sold out but you can enter your email for notification when Annette restocks! <3

What do you think lovelies? I’m definitely in love – I know I say it all the time but there’s just something about indies that the mainstream brands just don’t have.
