Seventeen Deconstructed Suede Effect

Hello lovelies! Another 3 for 2 victim today – those deals ALWAYS get me! Let me know in the comments what tempts you in the sales 🙂 I mostly get drawn by new products or whatever is in the featured section of the stand I’m at. In this instance, along with Seventeen Diamond in the Rough, it was this Deconstructed Suede Effect. Suede is essentially a fancy way of saying ‘matte shimmer’, as seen a few years ago with OPI’s Suede Effect. However it’s been a while since a matte shimmer has been released and the grungy colour of this polish really drew me in. My favourite thing about ‘suede effect’ polishes is that they can be worn two ways – they look amazing with and without topcoat but almost like totally different polishes.

The first two photos show the polish as it dries naturally, to a matte finish. The second two photos show the polish with topcoat. Deconstructed Suede is a blackened-brown base with silvery-gold shimmer. It’s the shimmer that gives the suede appearance – I’m a big fan of this polish because it’s so grungy and shabby, yet somehow quite chic. I’ve missed mattes! The polish is beautiful both ways – if wearing it again I would probably do french tips with topcoat or something similar.

Application:

This polish was perfect in every way where application was concerned. It has a flat brush which is wide enough to do your whole nail in two strokes but not so wide that you lose control of the polish. In other words, application was really easy! The polish was very even and had no streaking – the photos show one coat. Yep – ONE! 🙂

Using this polish makes me want to grab my matte topcoat and mattify everything! <3 what do you think? Is matte your thing?

Deconstructed Suede is £3.99 at Boots, and you also get a free eyebrow palette when you spend over £8 on Seventeen 🙂 what could be better! This is definitely one to pair with a leather jacket and Doc Martens 🙂
