Maybelline Bronze Me Up - Imagination In Colour

Maybelline Bronze Me Up

Hey lovely ladies. A slightly late post from me tonight, but hey, it’s Friday! (My life is so wild…!). Maybelline are really starting to pick up on nail trends lately, firstly with the Color Show Street Artist Collection, and now with the Stripped Nudes Collection. I’m not personally a massive fan of nudes (I tend to be strongly of the colourful constitution!) but this polish caught my eye.

I don’t often see bronze glitter in mainstream nail varnishes so I had to try it. It’s a really nice rose-toned bronze too, not stark or harsh. I layered one coat over two coats of Ciaté Angel Wings.

Sometimes I wear so many complex glitters that a lovely simple blend is a wonderful palate cleanser so to speak, as well as this polish being really pretty.

Application:

I had no issues at all in the application – it glided on really smoothly with the perfect consistency so I didn’t need to place the glitters on the nail. It dries quickly as long as you don’t load up the polish on the nail. It dries to a nice glossy finish, which can benefit from topcoat. I’m actually pretty intrigued to try putting matte topcoat over this glitter, I think it would look rather amazing!

One thing to note is that the larger hexagonal glitters do curl slightly. This doesn’t bother me personally, and it doesn’t really affect the ‘flatness’ of the finished look too much (especially with a coat of topcoat) but I know some people don’t like the look it gives, so it’s worth a mention.

You can buy Bronze Me Up for £3.99 from Boots (instore and online) and in Superdrug , and they are quite often on offer, too!
