Hello chickas! Hope you’re all well!
While Andy and I were in Bournemouth flat-hunting, of course I made the obligatory trip to Boots and Superdrug and this little beauty instantly caught my eye. This is actually from the Bourjois Halloween collection, which I have been slowly but surely hunting down over the last month! It’s the first time I’ve seen a ‘sensible’ brand like Bourjois step out for something like Halloween, which is exciting!
I loooooooove this polish! I love the name, I love the effect… so pretty! It’s very sheer, the photos show 3 coats, so as long as you don’t mind a bit of visible free edge it’s pretty on it’s own, however if you prefer it looks pretty awesome over the top of a base colour. The polish is essentially a grey-blue-lilac sheer base packed with golden shimmer.
Application:
The Bourjois brush is fairly wide, which I find trickier and easier in equal measure… it’s wide enough that it covers most of the nail at once, but if you miss a bit down the side, you’re stuck! It does give a good even measure though :). As I mentioned, it’s sheer, at 3 coats in the photos above. It’s quite slow drying, despite the ‘1 seconde’ claim all over the bottle, but this isn’t too much of a problem if you use a quick-drying topcoat. In it’s favour, it has GREAT longevity – I wore it for 4 days with no tipwear which is quite an achievement for my nails! My nails are subject to a fair bit of wear and tear so I’m lucky that they’re relatively strong, but nail polish doesn’t tend to last too long on them!
I really really really love this, I slightly wish it was more opaque but it’s still super pretty 🙂
What do you think? Does visible nail line bother you? Bourjois 1 seconde Ghost Lovers is £5.99 in Boots and Superdrug and of course these both have 3 for 2 offers across all makeup products! 🙂
x
