Barry M Red Glitter - Imagination In Colour

Barry M Red Glitter

Merry Christmas everyone! Hope you all had a lovely day and lots of lovely pressies! I certainly had a wonderful Christmas – I received a lot of AMAZING nail polish and skin care products so I am very chuffed! What did you get?

Here is a lovely red glitter (what do you mean you can tell from the name?!) by the lovely Barry M.

This is how bright and glowy the polish is – the rest of the photos show the texture better but the polish has serious sparkle!

This always seems to be the one that’s never on the shelf, much like Barry M’s Gold and Racing Green. So I was very overly happy to see it there waiting for me in my little local Boots!

The pictures are all at 3 coats. The polish is pretty much good to go at 2 coats but had a couple of tiny bald patches so the perfectionist in me had to cover it up! I also put a thick layer of topcoat over the polish to smooth out the surface. The actual texture of the polish is much like the one you can hopefully see in Barry M Blue Glitter – not matte, just quite dull  and grainy. The polish really comes alive with topcoat though.

The polish is a very rich red colour, probably most like the second photo, but in certain lights I could see orangey-yellow glitter particles reflected, which gave it a lovely glowing ember look (see the fourth photo!).

Application:

Unlike most glitters, this one does take a while to dry. No longer really than a normal polish, just long for a glitter. Once it’s dry, though, it’s rock solid, so you don’t have any touch-dry-but-still-ruinable nonsense! It’s important to leave a while between coats, probably 5-10 mins, because if it hasn’t fully dried it will drag, leaving bald patches.

The polish is definitely grainy, like most glitters, so definitely go for a thick topcoat if you want a smooth texture.

I really love this polish, so so pretty and festive! It will probably keep my festive mood going for a good few more days!

Hope you’re all doing well – let me know what you got for Christmas! I am very nosey so link me any blogposts or tell me what you got!

Emma x
