I must have a very lucky Superdrug because all but one of the new Barry M ‘Jewel Glitter’ polishes appeared on the shelves last Friday, 6 days early! Of course I snapped them up immediately, and here is one of them!
Pink Sapphire Glitter is essentially a mixture of pink and holographic large hexagonal glitter, smaller pink glitter and holographic bar glitter suspended in a clear base colour. I love this! So unique to the UK market, once again Barry M are pushing the bar higher and higher while the other brands struggle to keep up. Pink Sapphire Glitter is such a fascinating polish, I love how sparkly this is, definitely a polish for those of you who love a bit of glittery sparkle!
Application:
The glitter applied relatively evenly although, as with most polishes with larger glitter, I did need to slightly manipulate the positioning of the glitter on my nail in order to get even coverage. I don’t really know how many coats it would require to make this polish opaque due to the sparsity of the glitter in the clear base, but it certainly makes a gorgeous and eye-catching topcoat! The polish took an average time to dry – not as rapid as some glitters due to the amount of glitter in ratio to the amount of clear base. However it does not take more than 20 minutes to fully dry at 2 coats.
Pink Sapphire Glitter chimes many of the same chords as the much-loved and discontinued Once Upon A Time from Barry M (see my comparison below) – but Pink Sapphire Glitter differs in that as well as the holographic bar glitter, it has pink and holographic large hexagonal glitter and smaller pink glitter in the mix, and no pink bar glitter, where Once Upon A Time consists of purely holographic and pink bar glitter.
What do you think of Pink Sapphire Glitter? I absolutely love it, perfect for anyone who loves pink or loves sparkle! I feel like Barry M have been doing their research on what’s hot in the glitter polish world at the moment, does anyone else think Pink Sapphire Glitter could almost hail from an indie branded tree?
