Rimmel Pear Drop - Imagination In Colour

Rimmel Pear Drop

Hello lovelies, I have a super spring polish for you all today! I love this polish, it’s so fresh and minty. However if you aren’t a fan of frosts, look away now!

Pear Drop makes me think of sweeties, it’s probably because of the name (although I’ve never seen a bright mint green pear drop!) but it makes me think of Fairy Satins and those other satiny-finished sweets that looked like square pillows… anyone know what I mean?! I just spent about half an hour trying to find them on Google to no avail! Anyway, before I get stuck on yet another tangent…

I’m not fussed by it personally but I know a lot of people don’t like it. I’m pretty much obsessed with this polish, it makes me think of seafoam green as well as the sweetie connotations… argh, I just really love it! Somehow I like it more in the bottle than on my nails but it is  still very pretty on and a man at work even commented on my lovely nail colour 🙂 weirdly it’s only ever blokes who comment on my nails, the other day I was wearing nail wraps at work (more on them soon) but one of the (male) chefs stopped me for a conversation about them…! Anyway, Pear Drop is totally unique to my collection, I have nothing even remotely like it and I’ve only managed to find a few similar polishes online which is always super 🙂

Application:

Firstly and most importantly, as I mentioned before, because Pear Drop is a frost it will show all your brush strokes so ensure that you paint in straight strokes from cuticle to tip. It will also show any imperfections on your nails such as peeling or ridges, so if this bothers you, wear a ridge-filling basecoat. Otherwise the application posed no problems whatsoever: the polish dried very quickly and went on smoothly, I only needed 2 coats for full opacity and had no streaking problems at all.

Is this the sort of colour you would wear in Spring? I wore it on Easter Sunday and it made me feel very Springy 🙂

Rimmel Pear Drop is from their ‘I <3 Lasting Finish’ nail polish line and costs a more than reasonable £2.99. It is available at  Boots.com and instore, and Superdrug.com as well as instore and in Tesco, Sainsbury’s and other retailers that stock Rimmel.
