Hello lovelies! Today I have a really pretty polish to show you which was gifted to me (and made) by my first real-life polish friend, Charlie of Pocket Money Polishes π I’ve always loved Charlie’s glitters but it’s only in the last 6 months or so that I’ve got into wearing glitter as a topcoat properly, so I haven’t had a proper chance to write a blog post about them yet!
I umm-ed and ahh-ed about the perfect base for this polish for ages. In the end I settled for one coat of P.M.P. I Put A Spell On You over two coats of Illamasqua Poke, my new favourite purple :). I feel like the combination worked really well π
I Put A Spell On You (IPASOY for short!) is a lovely clear base filled with tiny holographic silver microglitter, bright orange satin hexagons, lime green satin stars and deep purple satin hearts. It’s a really pretty mix – not something I usually go for but this really caught my eye! I love how the colours pop over the purple. It’s even better in person but unfortunately my camera is incapable of capturing lovely purples like Poke accurately.
Application:
This polish applies really nicely, the glitter is nice and dense and I barely had to fish for the stars! There was no real problem with dragging and the polish dries quickly. It also dries to a nice high shine. I always recommend a topcoat for any polish with big glitters like the stars or hearts just to protect them from getting caught or lifting.
I love this polish, WAY more than I thought I would, too! The holo glitter makes a really subtle but a really pretty effect, not something I would have thought to pair with these colours but I love it!
Unfortunately Charlie is no longer selling her P.M.P. Glitter Babies but you can follow her lovely blog over atΒ Pocket Money PolishesΒ π thank you Charlie! <3 xxx
