Picture Polish Altered State

Hello! So you may have noticed… I’m on a bit of a Picture Polish kick!! It started with Aurora, and yesterday Illusionist, and now this one! 😛 These are all from the Limited Edition collection which is very, very limited!! I only bought three of the five, which I’m now regretting!

Of the three I bought, this one has the most subtle duochrome effect. But it’s still super pretty! I struggled a little to get the shift in the photos because it was pretty miserable today, grey and horrible! I did manage to get a few shots of it though :).

This is two coats of Altered State over one coat of Nails Inc New York Noir. Altered State is a gorgeous blue to pink to orange shift multichrome, filled with gorgeous holo flecks! It’s got a greyish base, so doesn’t layer over paler colours quite as nicely as Illusionist does. But over dark colours, like here, it’s beautiful! The orange isn’t really visible unless you view your nails from more extreme angles, hence why there isn’t much of it in the photos!

Application:

I think Altered State would probably take 4-5 coats for full opacity on it’s own. Over dark colours it looks really pretty at both one or two coats – one is more subtle, and two is more strong. It dries nice and quickly, and to a lovely high shine.

Picture Polish is an Australian brand so can be a little hard to get hold of in the UK; I bought my bottle of Illusionist from Rainbow Connection UK, which will be restocking it this week. It costs £12.50, which is a little steep for a nail polish, but I really really feel this is a very unique polish and totally worth every penny.
