Hello lovelies! I have a very pretty blue polish for you today 🙂 before I got into polish properly I used to ALWAYS wear Barry M Navy, so for the last 2 years or so I’ve largely avoided shimmery darker blues. I feel like this one is a good one to get me back into it, I really love the vibrancy of this colour.
Jacava London is a British nail polish brand, which is 8-Free. This means it is free from: Formaldehyde, Toluene, Camphor, Collophane, Parabens, Dibutyl-Pthalate, Pthalates and Animal Ingredients. It is also cruelty free. What more could you ask of a nail brand! 😀 It also has 22 Carat gold printing on the bottle…fancy!
Midnight’s Secrets is a lovely pure cobalt blue shimmer. No duochrome but sometimes that’s refreshing. I really like the warm tone of this polish 🙂
Application:
I’m not going to lie, the first coat was pretty bad. Streaky, dragging, pooling at the cuticles and patches everywhere, and somehow it got a little lumpy as well. The second coat did help to even it out a bit but it definitely needed a topcoat because it dried a little dull and bumpy. With a topcoat to seal it all off though it’s pretty good! Dry time was average, and coverage at 2 coats was opaque. I think with the right application it’s a good polish. For example, make sure your basecoat is bone dry before you apply the polish because it will reduce dragging issues.
Overall I enjoyed this polish a lot, and I definitely like the 8-free and cruelty free selling points. Midnight’s Secrets is available on Jacava.com, Feelunique.com and Amazon.com, for £14.50. Jacava London are also running a 10% off code until 7th July, just enter WIMBLEDON at the checkout 🙂
What do you think? I love what the brand is doing in terms of reducing the toxicity of the polish, and of course I am always a huge fan of anything that’s cruelty-free 🙂
