Flash Nails Jagged - Imagination In Colour

Flash Nails Jagged

Hey there! As you know I do love to support the UK indies as they (by default) have a much much smaller market than those in the US, as they can’t send internationally. However the last 2 months I have been beyond broke, and have had to admire from afar while some amazingly pretty polishes make their début here in the UK! But I was lucky enough to win a competition run by Nicola of Flash Nails, where you submitted a name for the polish, and if you won, she sent you a mini of your choice! I adore those kinds of competitions so I was beyond excited to have one, and the best bonus was being able to try her polishes 🙂 Thank you Nicola!

Flash Nails Jagged (3)Jagged immediately caught my eye… it’s not something I’ve ever seen before, and I love it! It’s like a birthday party in a bottle!  I had to layer this polish over something fun, so this is two coats of Jagged over two coats of Barbara Daly Violet Cream. It’s a clear base full of multi-coloured and multi-finish shards, mostly metallic but some are iridescent 😀 I’m a big fan of shards and I feel like they’re making their way into a trend, with both Barry M and OPI releasing shard polishes this season.

Application:

This is a glitter topcoat so would take a lot of coats for full opacity. I feel it gives best topper coverage at 2 coatsthe shards can be a little elusive so make sure you swirl the brush at a slight angle when you go to paint, to get a good amount of them on the brush. Jagged dries fairly quickly as long as you don’t do a very thick coat, which is why it’s always better to do a second coat for glitter density rather than doing one thick coat. Some of the shards will stick up a little so I’d definitely recommend using a topcoat to keep them smooth, and to make the most of the colours!

I absolutely love this, it makes me think of piñatas and all things fun and colourful!! So thank you so much Nicola for sending me this 😀 If you love the look of Jagged, you can buy it for just £5.99 for a full-size (10ml) bottle – the one I am showing is 5ml – at Flash Nails’ Etsy store, and keep up to date on the Flash Nails Facebook page 🙂 I already have my eye on at least three others!
