Hey everyone ๐ here’s another Chubby Owl Polish for you – I am in LOVE with these! I’ve been eyeballing Essiepops since my first order with Jemma, and I finally have it, yay! ๐ I believe Essiepops was inspired by Jemma’s super cute little hammy hamster, Essieoo!
One of the things I love most about Chubby Owl Polishes is their base colours. All of mine have been amazing – the creme-jelly formulas all seem to have beautiful hidden shimmer, and the jellies are perfect and streak free! Essiepops is no exception, with a fine silvery-blue shimmer running through it ๐
Essiepops is a pale blue shimmery crelly base, full of gold hexagons, larger silver holo hexagons and even larger holographic pink circle glitter. It’s beautiful!! ๐ I layered 2ย coats of Essiepops over 1 coat of Ciatรฉ Ferris Wheel. However it also works perfectly on it’s own too! It’s a really beautiful way to jazz up spring pastelly blue.
Application:
I had virtually no problems with application. I didn’t have to fish for the circles although it was easier to paint the nail and then place them on each coat, as they tend to get dragged along by the brush a little. ย I think on it’s own Essiepops would be pretty opaque at 3 coats, with a tiny bit of VNL :). It dried pretty quickly, and to a lovely high shine, but I strongly recommend using a topcoat to seal in and protect the circle glitters which are always susceptible to snagging! The formula is beautiful too. It’s opaque enough to give a nice colour without occluding the glitter.
I loooove this polish, it’s got me right in the mood for Spring! (I know, I know, it’s quite a way off yet…!) You can buy Essiepops on the Chubby Owl Polish site, and you can also follow Jemma on Instagram @jemmypuddleduckย for lots of polishy updates! <3
