Something has taken over my ability to limit my spending this month… maybe it’s the amazing new collections coming out every other week! I’ve ‘accidentally’ bought 5 Butter Londons, 3 China Glazes, 3 OPIs, 7 Illamasquas since the beginning of January and I’m not convinced that’s the end, either!
Anyway, since I am now inundated with amazing polishes, I’d better get on with showing you them! Here is China Glaze It’s A Trap-eze! – a gorgeous white jelly containing blue, pink, yellow, green, silver, orange and purple glitter… it’s like the topping on a cupcake 🙂
I love how sheer the white is, at 2 coats it is just enough to cover the nail line without the glitter being too overwhelming, and it also means you can layer it over other colours to give a slight tint to the base colour. It is very eyecatching and super pretty! I’m really glad I have this polish, if only so I can recreate this Cirque du Soleil nail art by Chalkboard Nails! It’s very unique, with Deborah Lippmann undertones but not quite like anything she’s produced.
Application:
The application was better than I expected it to be; the glitter applied fairly evenly with the exception of my index fingernail – see my photos for reference – and the overall finish was quite smooth and opaque at 2 coats. It took a little while to dry – I would leave 15 or so minutes between coats unless you are using a fast-drying product to speed it up. Finally I added a topcoat just to enhance that squishy jelly appearance and to make it shiny, although the glitter does that for itself really.
What do you think of It’s A Trap-eze!? Too much or plain beautiful? Have you splurged on any of the Cirque du Soleil collection? I bought mine from eBay.com.
