Gradient

Hey everyone! I hope you’re having a great week. I’ve been having a bit of a weird one – my teeth have got SUPER sensitive and I basically can’t talk half the time because my mouth is in so much pain haha. But luckily no talking is required for blogging 😉

It’s been quite a while since I’ve layered glitter nail polish over a base colour, and this week I fancied doing something a little different with it. I’m pretty happy with how these came out, I haven’t done a gradient in a loooong time! They remind me of speckled eggs 🙂

Today is ‘orange’, if you couldn’t guess from the title! Now, I do love orange, but on my nails I’m not such a big fan as it can tend to clash with my pink-toned skin… so I have to choose them wisely! This time it was relatively easy to pick out a top 5 favourites as the oranges are a little lacking in volume in my collection. I love darker, shimmery oranges which take the emphasis off the clashyness because they’re more pretty and reflective.

I was wearing my Barry M Heather Silk yesterday, and thought, this would look amazing as a pastelly gradient! So I’ve put together as quick step-by-step guide to how to get this look. Hello lovelies- first and foremost I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and New Year! Sorry I’ve (again) been absent… I *hope* I have a good enough reason… Andy and I are moving into our first home together, in a different city *eek* so I’m super excited/busy/stressed/exhausted/thinking a million things a minute. This also means I’m being productive, which also means my blog takes a little bit of a sideline to priorities like sorting out insurance, packing, cancelling incorrectly taken direct debits (side story: Tesco screwed me over!). Anywho, since it has been a good 5 days since I posted, I thought I’d update you all! 🙂

Last year, I bought the Ciaté Mini Mani Month (nail polish advent calender) in a fit of indulgence, loved opening all the doors and looking at all the cute polishes but never used any of them. Not for the whole year. How bad is that! So I promised myself this year, if I bought it, I HAD to use them. And so far I’m doing pretty good – this mani alone consists of 6 Mini Mani Month offerings!
