Barry M Blueberry Gelly

Here I have ‘Blueberry Gelly Nail Paint 5’, one of the brand new Barry M Gelly Nail Paints due to be released on 26th September in Superdrug. The cost is £3.99 each.

I wanted to quickly point something out – the ‘Gelly’ title refers to the fact that the polishes have a ‘gel-effect‘ (think gel nails – Shellac, Axxium etc) in that they have a high gloss and they are very opaque – as opposed to being ‘jellies’ (glossy but sheer nail polish).

Also, for reference, the penultimate photo in this post shows accurately how glossy this polish is!

Topshop Hypnotic

Day 8 of the 30 Days of Untrieds Challenge: metallic. To be honest I’m not really sure what qualifies as metallic as I’ve always referred to ‘metallic’ (in terms of car paint… lol) polishes as ‘shimmers’. So I decided that this one might just do for a metallic mani, but I don’t really know! These photos, like those of Topshop Eclipse, were taken on holiday a few weeks ago, hence the length discrepancy. Hypnotic is exactly that – my nails were pretty mesmerising!

Dalmatian Nail Art

Day 7 of the 30 Days of Untrieds Challenge! Day 7 is black & white. Now I know this isn’t exactly original but I’ve always wanted to try  Dalmatian print and it’s actually surprisingly easy!

Abstract Nail Art

Today I have an ‘ultra-modern’ inspired creation as part of the ‘Three Nail Challenge‘,  devised by the lovely ladies at Mateji Ustvarjata. To be honest I don’t really know what qualifies as ultra-modern but colour blocking and abstract art came to mind for some reason, so that’s what happened!

Revlon French Mix All The Rage

Day 6 of the 30 Days of Untrieds Challenge! Day 6 is violet. For my birthday last month my Andy kindly took me shopping in Reading. Of course nail polish was at the top of my list. We went into Boots (which was pretty huge and amazing!) and I found an entire counter dedicated to Revlon nail polish – heaven! I saw the Revlon French Mix polishes and just had to buy one… I chose All The Rage, a green and a purple polish. I’ve always loved how bright green and purple look together so this one was perfect.

The basic idea of the French Mix polishes is that there are two polishes (each contained in a small bottle at either end of the stick) which can be used together to create an accent nail, and more importantly, an ‘alternative French Manicure’. This pushed all the right buttons for me and despite the rather hefty price tag (£7.99) and the rather small bottles I had to buy it, if only to see whether the idea was effective.
